Faith is Proven in the Waiting

Waiting is hard. We live in a society that craves immediacy—we want things now. Personally, I dislike standing in line or waiting for a table at a restaurant. I want instant results.

Yet, God often asks us to wait. He makes promises, but there’s usually a gap between the promise and its fulfillment. Throughout the Bible, figures like Abraham, David, Joseph, and Paul waited for years before seeing God’s promises come to fruition.

Is God slow in keeping His promises? No. There is purpose in the waiting.

  • In waiting, character is revealed and developed.
  • In waiting, faith is formed.
  • In waiting, we learn to rely on Jesus.
  • In waiting, we learn to walk by faith, not by sight.

We live in a "microwave world," but God operates more like a slow-cooker. Just as meals from a slow-cooker taste better than something quickly heated in a microwave, promises fulfilled after a season of waiting bring greater satisfaction than those received instantly.

Through the wait, your faith is deepened, your worship becomes more sincere, and your gratitude grows.
